Bonas MacFarlane runs an online education programme for students worldwide and we are looking for an experienced senior media technician who is confident with managing virtual learning environments, video production and extremely comfortable with web technologies. This post will involve making inspiring video content, building great web sites and training our team to deliver impressive education online. Bonas MacFarlane has 25 years of experience working individually with students to prepare them for world-class universities. With 1200 active tutors, plus teams of mentors and consultants, Bonas MacFarlane has prepared students across the world for admission to the leading universities and colleges in the UK and USA. Skills & experience required

The successful candidate will be expected to enjoy learning new technologies and be a confident communicator. The job will develop you into a highly confident leader in the developing world of e-learning. You should be able to demonstrate that you have:

- experience of using and supporting others to use a learning and teaching system eg. Blackboard, Moodle, Canvas;

- experience of using or supporting a web conferencing platform eg. WebEx;

- an excellent and creative understanding of all aspects of video production, encompassing lighting, photography, sound recording, graphics and editing;

- expertise in a range of web/multimedia technologies (eg. HTML5, CSS); some familiarity withcontent management systems such as wordpress, drupal or joomla;

- experience offering live technical support, comfortable solving fast-moving and un-expectedproblems;

- a strong graphics background, comfortable producing artwork, presentations and publications in Adobe CS for a wide range of media purposes;

- excellent communication skills, including documentation, report writing and the ability to communicate specialist technological information to a non-technical audience;

- the ability to work collaboratively with others and make a positive contribution to a team, taking a creative approach to problem-solving and being proactive;

- an understanding of and commitment to excellent customer service, using feedback and statistical data to improve the service;

- workload management skills, with a positive and flexible approach to changing priorities, maintaining service and performance standards whilst meeting deadlines.


You may also have:

- experience evangelising e-learning to teachers and students;

- experience of search engine optimisation;

- experience of learning analytics or data reporting/analysis tools.

Salary - £28,440 - £34,380 per annum, dependent on qualifications, skills and experience

Contract - Permanent

Hours - Mon - Fri, 9am-6pm
